At Mary's everyone plays an important role in providing our wonderful customers with memorable High Tea experiences. Below you will find a list of all the different roles within Mary's front of house teams.
On the floor management of Front of House team
Overseeing and managing the service of our lovely High Tea, A La Carte and function clients.
Managing and coordinating shifts including the creation of weekly run sheets and staff allocations for the Front of House team
Weekly rostering of staff
Ordering and stocktake of all front-of-house goods including milk, cleaning products, takeaway cups and boxes and catering boxes
Meeting with potential clients at the Tea House and showing them through function rooms and package options
Liaising with other departments to facilitate booking enquiries
Management and organisation of online store orders
Contributing to social media management and promotion of the venue
Management of customer complaints and feedback
Recruitment and training of all new Front of House team members
Assists venue manager in:
Rostering
Weekly run sheets and staff allocations for the Front of House team
Managing clients' High Tea events
Training and development of current and new staff members
Front-of-house ordering and stocktake
Meeting with potential clients at the Tea House and showing them through function rooms and package options
Liaising with other departments (kitchen and our administration team) to facilitate booking enquiries
Supervise and coordinate staff on shift
Ensure High Tea sessions run smoothly and steps of service are completed
On-the-job training and development of new and existing staff
First point of contact for customer complaints during service
All tasks of a High Tea server
Preparing and serving high-quality hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, and cocktails.
Cleaning and sanitising work areas, utensils and equipment.
Provide an exceptional level of service for guests
Support High Tea service
Should be able to complete all tasks of a High Tea server if required.
Management and service of allocated High Tea, A La Carte or function client tables/bookings.
Taking and processing A La Carte orders and payment
Serving High Tea, drinks, and other add-ons to customers.
Clearing and resetting tables for future bookings
Assisting clients with any questions regarding the menu or dietary requirements
Upselling and explaining further products or offerings available at Mary Eats Cake
Clearing dishes from tables
Washing, drying and polishing glassware and select crockery
Running food and drinks
Resetting tables for future bookings
Support High Tea servers
Maintain clean work area, including removal of rubbish and sanitising benches
