MBU - SOE ensures that candidates develop an understanding of the critical concepts and principles of their discipline and facilitates candidates’ reflection of their personal biases to increase their understanding and practice of equity, diversity, and inclusion. MBU - SOE is intentional in the development of their curriculum and clinical experiences for candidates to demonstrate their ability to effectively work with diverse P-12 students and their families. Outcomes are monitored at appropriate progression levels.
R1.1 Within the Learner & Learning - MBU-SOE ensures candidates can effectively apply critical concepts of learner development, learning differences, and creating supportive environments to work with diverse P-12 students and families, as per InTASC Standards 1, 2, and 3.
R1.2 Within the Content - MBU-SOE ensures candidates apply content knowledge, demonstrating central concepts of their content area (InTASC Standard 4) and developing inclusive learning experiences for diverse P-12 students (InTASC Standard 5). Outcome data includes MidTerm and Final Assessments and Portfolio Projects.
R1.3 Within Instructional Practice - MBU-SOE ensures candidates apply InTASC standards related to instructional practice at suitable progression levels, evidenced by their ability to assess (Standard 6), plan for instruction (Standard 7), and employ various instructional strategies (Standard 8) to foster equitable and inclusive learning experiences for diverse P-12 students. Additionally, candidates model and apply approved technology standards to engage and enhance learning for all students, as mandated by national or state guidelines.
R1.4 Within Professional Responsbility - MBU-SOE ensures candidates apply their understanding of professional responsibility, as demonstrated by engaging in professional learning, ethical conduct (Standard 9), taking responsibility for student learning, and collaborating with others (Standard 10) to effectively support diverse P-12 students and their families. Evidence validates candidates' ability to fulfill these professional responsibilities.
