What you can do at home

All pupils who are on the SEN register have a school support plan. There might be a home learning target for you to support your child with at home.

Barriers to learning do not end at the school gates and most pupils with SEN need regular input and support at home as well as school. Children who need sensory support (eg; sensory circuits) at school are likely to need sensory activities at home. Please watch the following to find out what a sensory circuit is.

You don't need to do a whole sensory circuit. Maybe just one activity from each section. You may be able to use the equipment in your local park, if you don't have space or resources at home.

All pupils who have speech, language or communication needs will benefit from input at home. Playing games, having conversations and introducing new vocabulary are all activities that can be fun to do at home. Ideas of things that you can try can be found on the NHS link below
