Central idea: Cultural identity can be expressed through creativity.
Both classes enjoyed visiting Marden library where they had the opportunity to read and discuss a selection of books. It was lovely to see the children filled with enthusiasm and excitement for reading!
As our inquiry has continued, we've been using our culture, particularly our celebration of Christmas, as our focus to inspire our learning. We've explored how Christmas is celebrated differently across the globe and the traditions which we apply as part of our celebrations, from putting up a tree to Christmas feasts with the family.
We have also created our own optical illusion art (inspired by Bridget Riley) and applied our DT skills in making a moving lever - we look forward to applying both these elements to making a Christmas card with moving features next week!
