Year 1     Learning Update

Central idea: Celebrations can enhance the way we see the world. 

This week has been a whirlwind of excitement and hard work as we've juggled the Christmas fair, the nativity dress rehearsal, and the final touches on our inquiry project. The children have truly outdone themselves with their incredible work on the nativity play, and we hope you enjoy watching their performance.

As we explored English traditions, the children crafted impressive shields inspired by the legendary St. George. And while delving into Scottish culture, they wove beautiful tapestries, drawing inspiration from the iconic tartan patterns.

In recent days, we've embarked on a magical journey through the tales of Tomten, a Swedish Christmas tradition, and the story of the Ukrainian Christmas spider web. The children have been captivated by these diverse cultural celebrations, gaining a deeper appreciation for Christmas traditions around the world.

Please remember that book change days are Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure that your child is bring a coat in to school as well as a water bottle.
