Central idea: Human behaviour can affect the survival of our planet.
The children had an amazing time at Victoria Park linking to our inquiry, thinking about the impact human behaviour can have on the planet. We managed to walk in the sensory garden and noticed the different plants and watched the bees pollinating linking into cross curricular into our science topics. During our exploration the children carried out a mini beast hunt before finding some materials that were in the park to construct a bug hotel. They will be designing and making their own bug hotel in school before the end of this module.
We have been really impressed with how reflective the children have been, thinking about how our planet is changing due to the way humans interact.
In maths, we have been looking at time and how to differentiate the time past and the time to the hour using an analogue clock.
Our broad bean seeds which the children are very excited about and diligently watering them have started to grow their shoots and will be sent home for planting this week. We have found it interesting to see how much the shoots have grown over the past few weeks. We hope that they continue to grow and produce beans for the children to try.
