Central idea: Personal choices can impact the environment.
This week the children have been working hard to save the planet. We noticed that there was a significant amount of paper being placed into the ordinary bins. The children know that some objects can be recycled into other things, rather than going to landfill, so they decided that we should collect the paper and make our own recycled paper. After discussing this a while a go at school, Blue went home and made his own recycled paper. Blue was able to explain to the class the steps to make recycled paper.
Collect old paper that is going in the bin.
Rip it up into small pieces.
Add water and mix.
Blend it to make it smooth.
Lay it flat and press our the water with fabric.
Leave it to dry.
Our tea party with Bramley Court residents
On Tuesday we welcomed the residents from Bramley Court for tea party. It was not long ago that we visited Bramley Court when we sang our favourite nursery rhymes at the resident's doors.
It is fair to say that every child and every adult gained a huge amount from our tea party. Team Juniper and Team Oak all enjoyed reading stories, building rockets and drawing pictures with our new friends.
Our new, intergenerational relationship will grow stronger when residents from Bramley Court become guests of honour at our graduation on Monday 21st July.
Building work update
Ethan: Look! Look! The excavator is picking up the old building.
Alfie: Look how much space we have for the new building.
Rudi: It's all gone!
