Year 4   Learning Update

Central idea: The legacies of ancient civilisations may influence modern Britain.

Our new inquiry learning has started with us exploring what an ancient civilisation is. We have learnt that ancient civilisations began as our earliest settlements which expanded in to towns and cities, forming with one another to make grand civilisations. Further research showed us we already knew some ancient civilisations such as the Ancient Egyptians and the Mayans. To help our understanding of chronology, this week we have made paper chain timelines to show the order of all ancient civilisations. We've then created a timeline of key events during the two ancient civilisations which will be our ongoing focus: the Ancient Greeks and the Romans.
