Central idea: Learning about history can help us to understand the present.
We have had a busy start to Module 4.
We have been exploring what history is, understanding the concept of past, present and future. The children were curious about what life was like before they were born and created some questions to ask our grandparents. Some of these included asking if they remembered the moon landing and what their favourite toy was. Some of our grandparents came in to share their wonderful stories about what their life was like when they were younger. We also learnt that:
There were only 3 children's channels on the television.
They still had Barbies but they liked going outside.
They had bikes and they went fishing.
Thank you so much to all the grandparents for answering our questions and sharing your precious memories.
We have been looking at objects from the past and created a class time capsule, adding our favourite toys, books and memories. We wrote letters to people of the future, telling them what our lives look like now.
In maths we have been counting to 50, identifying the tens and ones in numbers between 20 and 50. In online safety we have been thinking about which rules we need to follow when using technology to keep ourselves safe.
