Central idea: People can go on vacation to explore different communities.
Our trip to Folkestone already seems a long time ago, however, as you will see from the many photos, the children had a wonderful time. We counted tourists, scored areas for their level of attraction, had fun on the beach, and had lunch in the amphitheatre followed by full-on excitement in the Lower Leas Coastal park. The weather was so kind to us! We loved Folkestone and now we are creating our own tourist brochure to invite tourists.
In maths, we have done some work on statistics by using our tourism survey from our trip to create block graphs and interpret the data. We have also been learning about the different types of angles and how turns are described.
In science we continue to learn what makes plants grow well, this week we are investigating how water is transported in a plant by observing the changes of a flower with blue food dye in its water. You will also see that we have begun to explore the style of the artist Banksy by using different paint techniques as well as digital art. We are also learning how to create different stitches in preparation for our quilting project!
