3Beech   Learning Update

Central idea: Our lifestyle is influenced by our choices.

What a busy week we have had!  We have come to the end of our key text 'The Lion Inside', from which we have explored different forms of narrative style writing, including first person narrative, predictive text, narrative with dialogue and as you can see, even showing empathy with a character.  Children have really used their imagination and fully immersed themselves in the genre whilst also exploring wider themes of overcoming fears and facing our future.

Our maths learning has been a full on deep dive into column addition with exchange; I am immensely proud of children's unwavering perseverance into completely new learning.  All their hard work with securing their place value knowledge has really paid off.

We have been learning how to use shape, proportion, line and tone to create a self portrait.  Our next step will be to add depth and detail through the use of skin tone pencils for colour.  I think you will agree that children have really captured their distinctive features and character in their drawing.

We have been bringing our final line of inquiry to a close by considering the roles and responsibilities of different jobs and the impact they have.  Children have explored their skills and qualities in order to set goals for the future.

Thank you so much for your support with the amazing homework projects.  There was a genuine buzz in the classroom as children presented their work (with full audience participation at times!).  It was a wonderful showcase and children showed a great deal of pride in all of their projects.
