Principal's Message

This week I have enjoyed spending the majority of the week being in and out of learning across the school day. I am really proud of the broad and balanced curriculum on offer here at Marden Primary Academy. The PYP curriculum offers the opportunity for children to understand concepts deeply and explore avenues not predetermined by their teacher. In the past year, teaching and learning have come a long way and the outcomes produced by your children are ever improving. Please have a look through the tabs of other year groups as well as your child's to see what learning experiences our children are having. This of course has been exemplified by the year 6 restaurant this week. It really was fantastic to see them cooking, preparing menus and serving their parents. These experiences mean children understand the value of hard work and money, although I feel some of the children may have slightly overcharged for their service!

I look forward to seeing you at the One Stop Shop at Marden on Wednesday, it is going to be a fantastic community event.

Office Messages

PE Kits

Please can we remind all parents that PE kits should be in school at all times. We will no longer be ringing parents if a child has left their PE kit at home.

Additionally, children will need them more frequently in the lead-up to Sports Day and will not be able to participate in races if they do not have the correct kit, this includes having a PE top (with logo) in their allocated house colour.

One Stop Shop @ Marden

Everyone is welcome - this is an event for all families within the Marden Community. At Marden Primary Academy we recognise that life is hard and there are many struggles taking place within the community. As Marden is a rural village it can be hard to access the services you need, be it a friendly face to talk to, mental health worries or general community concerns.

This is why we are hoping that the ‘One Stop Shop’ can help. We are bringing a range of services to your doorstep in the hope that we can support all our families in whatever they need. This event will be in the form of a coffee morning and will be very informal, there will also be biscuits and cakes available. In addition, there will be a small arts and crafts activity available for those attending with small children; as we say everyone is welcome.

This will be the first of what we hope to be many of these events and we are hoping it will grow once we know where the main worries and concerns are.
