What a week for enrichment! This week we have welcomed the Sports for Schools Partnership in and the children have risen to the challenge raising an astonishing £1435.00 online so far! This will be uplifted by cash donations that will be counted (and will need to be in by) next Friday. Thank you for all of the Fathers and special friends visiting this morning. I know the children loved having you in to work with them and put you to task!
We also welcomed our new Early Years cohort for September for a stay and play and an open evening. We are incredibly excited to receive you in September. Finally Arts week has been great and what an exhibition! All week I have watched children intently sewing, painting and moulding and it has been a delight to see. I hope you enjoyed the showcase; I am certainly proud of it. A huge thank you to Mrs Mason who organised both arts week and the EYFS events this week and as ever all of the staff who have supported make it all happen.

Office Messages
With effect from 1st September 2022, we will no longer be accepting cash or cheque payments at Marden Primary Academy. All payments for dinner money, wraparound care, trips etc will need to be made via credit or debit card in the My Child At School (MCAS) app.
Alternatively, you will be able to request a Paypoint barcode from the office and use this to make cash payments at Marden Stores.
With effect from 1st September 2022 all sessions for Breakfast Club and Late Stay Club will need to be booked and paid for in advance via the Wraparound Care section on the My Child At School (MCAS) app. Parents will no longer be able to create negative balances or pay for sessions at a later date. If you normally pay via Childcare Vouchers, these will need to be processed in advance so we can credit account balances on My Child At School.
There will also be a 24-hour notice period required for cancellations.
Everyone is welcome - this is an event for all families within the Marden Community. At Marden Primary Academy we recognise that life is hard and there are many struggles taking place within the community. As Marden is a rural village it can be hard to access the services you need, be it a friendly face to talk to, mental health worries or general community concerns.
This is why we are hoping that the ‘One Stop Shop’ can help. We are bringing a range of services to your doorstep in the hope that we can support all our families in whatever they need. This event will be in the form of a coffee morning and will be very informal, there will also be biscuits and cakes available. In addition, there will be a small arts and crafts activity available for those attending with small children; as we say everyone is welcome.
This will be the first of what we hope to be many of these events and we are hoping it will grow once we know where the main worries and concerns are.
Student Shoutouts
Virtual reality (VR for short) has existed for decades, but it’s only in the last 10 years that the technology has really become publicly available. With VR’s rapid rise as a gaming and educational medium, there are plenty of unknowns regarding its use – for adults and children alike. Is it safe? How long should someone use VR for? How expensive is it? What’s clear is that VR is becoming ever more ubiquitous in everyday life: from companies using it for training to at-home fitness. Knowing what the technology is capable of is more useful than ever.
In the guide, you'll find tips on a number of potential risks such as physical accidents, premature exposure and eye strain.
