Central idea: Humans make choices which may affect Earth's resources.
We have begun exploring deforestation in more detail this week. We read 'There's a Rang-Tan in My Bedroom' and the children are outraged at the treatment of our forests. We are using our voice and writing letters to persuade companies to rethink their use of palm oil.
Inspired by the artist Henri Rousseau, our contribution to Arts Week was to create a rainforest curtain. We have used a range of skills, starting with cutting out the shapes we wanted to use. We then traced these shapes onto polystyrene tiles, adding in lots of finer details from the original leaf and animal images. Once our tile was prepared, we used paint and lino rollers to load the tile, then printed these onto our curtain fabric. We had great fun and we hope you enjoy the results.
