Central idea: Humans can explore their environment to understand the world around them.
Early Years have had the very best start to our new inquiry! We have loved going outside and spending time in our school environment exploring what we could see, hear and feel!
Benji - "I’ve found a humongous stick bigger than Mrs Morgan and me and it’s bigger than you too Mrs Hinch."
Nellie - "There are lots of green leaves on the floor but not on the trees."
Tom - Henry - "It feels cold out here. My skin feels cold."
Sidney - "Why does that tree look similar to the other trees?"
Orla - "I like listening to the crunching leaves and the trees moving in the wind."
Brooke - "I can see an acorn, a stick and a leaf."
Amora - "I can hear the birds tweeting."
Harry - "I can hear birds. They are far away because their voices are so quiet."
Evelina - "I can feel rain, it comes from the sky."
Hudson - "I can see lots of blue, green and brown."
This week, we went to Bedgebury. We absolutely loved going on our very first school trip! After a very exciting coach journey, we around and had snack. We played with our friends in the giant sand play area before walking through the woods for a swing of the massive rope swing. We then continued our walk through the woods and enjoyed eating our lunch outside together. Afterwards, we went back to the forest for story time and den building! We had the most amazing day and would like to thank all of the adults who come along to help us!
Elsie B - "I like the rope swing with my friends!"
Ora - "I like going on the coach because I haven’t been on one before."
Deanna - "I like the woods. We made a house for a fox."
Luna - "My favourite part was making dens for the mice. We put an extra stick on it so the mice can run away, up the tree, if they are being chased."
Henry - "I like playing in the sand."
Alice - "I had so much fun playing in the woods."
The behaviour of our youngest learners was exceptional. The EYFS team are so proud of them all!
Thank you to all of the parents that helped. We couldn't have done it without you!
