Central idea: The appreciation of artforms can be determined by the individual.
Year 5 have had an incredibly busy and exciting time as we draw to the close of Module 2!
The children put on a truly fantastic assembly, where they proudly showcased their inquiry into a wide range of artforms. The performance was a wonderful celebration of their learning, highlights including a beautifully sung group song and a bollywood dance. We are so incredibly proud of every child for their enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the assembly.
To finish the module, pupils have been creating artwork inspired by Katherine Callaghan and designing bags influenced by traditional Mayan textiles. This has definitely demonstrated their creativity.
In English, the children have been planning and writing imaginative narratives based on our class book The Last Wild. They’ve impressed us with their inventive vocabulary choices and fronted adverbials to hook their readers.
Year 5 are continuing to practice their glockenspiels in preparation for performing Silent Night, as well as rehearsing their class carols ready for the festive season.
We are so proud of all the children for their hard work, creativity and dedication this term.
This week, Year 5 welcomed two very special visitors!
St Nicholas stopped by and filled the boots left outside our classroom with sweets, much to the children’s delight.
A more mischievous elf also made an appearance, leaving behind a cut‑out for us to pose with!
