Central idea: Artforms can be used to express ideas and feelings.

This week in inquiry we have been experimenting with different joining techniques as children prepared to make their Nutcracker or Sugar Plum Fairy sock puppets. They have explored the best technique that would work best for their design. 

In maths, we have been looking at odd and even numbers following on from last weeks 2 times tables and division lessons. Towards the end of the week we have been exploring the 10 times tables as well as introducing the division symbol that allows them to complete the inverse operations. 

In writing, we have been completing our final narrative for this module using all of our descriptive language to describe a character from our core text: The Nutcracker. 

We are all looking forward to seeing you on Monday or Tuesday for our Nativity productions. The children have been working so hard and we are all proud of their hard work.
