On Friday two classe were busy helping start seeds for the garden! Ms. Thompson's class planted butternut squash and thyme seeds. They got to see the difference in size of the large squash seeds and the tiny thyme seeds.
Ms. Westbrook's class planted nasturtium seeds, a fun flower that's beneficial for our pollinators. It's also a unique flower in that all parts are edible! The peppery leaves and flowers can be an interesting addition to salads, and their seed pods can be pickled to create a treat similar to capers.
