April 1, 2021

Although the weather seems to be playing a joke on us this week, these photos are no April Fools. There are signs of spring outdside around the school!

Garlic

The garlic cloves we planted in the fall are popping up in the garden beds. Their leaves will grow 12-18" tall and the bulbs will be ready to harvest in July. Some of them that are a "hardneck" variety will grow curly stems that we can harvest and eat even sooner!

Flowers

If you look at the flower beds around the school grounds, the spring bulbs have been popping up. Don't be worried about the snow and cold weather! These plants are adapted to the wild weather swings that we call spring in Vermont.
