1) A position-time graph shows the velocity of an object in motion.
Velocity can be zero, negative of positive.
2) Straight line means that a mass is moving at constant velocity.
3) Curving lines represent acceleration. Acceleration can be positive or negative.
4) Slope (steepness) matters:
Straight line with a gentle slope indicates that a mass is moving slowly at constant velocity.
Straight line with a steep slope indicates that a mass is moving quickly at constant velocity.
Flat line = object has stopped. The object is at rest. The velocity is zero.
Speeding Up. Net force is causing an acceleration
Slowing Down. Net force is causing an acceleration
Slowing Down. Net force is causing an acceleration
