Fakalofa Atu.
Koe higoa haaku ko Whaea Crystal.
I’m an alumni of the Auckland Faculty of Education (B.Ed, 2008) with over 17 years of teaching experience, including time in the UAE. I’m committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and creating learning that matters—real, hands-on experiences that help students understand, explore, and get excited about learning.
I love working with whānau and the community to celebrate each child’s culture, language, and experiences. When kids see their identity valued at home and at school, learning becomes more meaningful. Bringing in families, elders, and experts helps students connect with the world around them.
I get to know my learners—their strengths, interests, and cultures. In my classroom, students learn through Pacific traditions like song, dance, talanoa, and play. They gain confidence, take risks, and thrive. I give them ways to show their learning, encourage a “can-do” attitude, and create a space where everyone feels safe, valued, and ready to grow.
