My name is Noora Kavea, and I am a proud dedicated experienced educator, and active community member, I bring a strong sense of commitment, cultural understanding.
With over 25 years of experience working in education, I have served as both a classroom teacher, centre manager and curriculum leader. I currently support literacy and numeracy development and have a strong understanding of how to raise student achievement through effective planning, organising and teaching practices. I hold qualifications in education and leadership and continue to be involved in professional learning to stay up to date with best practice.
I am passionate about inclusive, high-quality education for all learners. As someone of Pacific heritage, I advocate for culturally responsive teaching and ensuring all students see themselves reflected in the classroom. I also have a special interest in supporting Māori and Pasifika success, wellbeing, and language revitalisation.
What motivates me is the belief that every child deserves to thrive in an environment where they feel valued, safe, and inspired to learn. I believe schools should work in close partnership with whānau and the wider community, with decisions grounded in honesty, integrity, and what is best for our tamariki.
