Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Overview

The Pupil Premium is additional funding that is paid to schools in respect of their disadvantaged pupils (pupils who have been registered for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years, are looked after continuously by the local authority for more than six months, or are children of service personnel).  Schools receive this funding to support their eligible pupils and narrow the attainment gap between them and their peers.

Since September 2014, all infant children have received a free school meal. As a school we have asked parents to provide us with information confidentially to ensure that all pupils receive the support they are entitled to.  Please enquire at the School office for further information .

Schools get £1,320 for every primary age pupil, or £935 for every secondary age pupil, who claims free school meals, or who has claimed free school meals in the last 6 years.

From April 2020 the new rates will be:

Looked-after and previously looked-after children

Schools get £2,300 for every pupil who has left local authority care through adoption, a special guardianship order or child arrangements order.
