About Us
Maldon is a Primary Academy with approximately 200 children and provides places for pupils from Reception to Year 6.
Our school is made up of well-equipped classrooms. We also have a large library, a large hall, an ICT suite, and a learning support area for working with small groups of children. Outside, we have three playground areas: one for Early Years with zoned learning areas where the Reception children play for their first year of the Academy; one for Key Stage One and the third for Key Stage 2. We also have a garden area that children tend to, growing plants and vegetables. We have our Starlight Classroom, which can be used during break or lunch time for those children that enjoy a quieter social time with their friends. All children take part in the Daily Mile each day at the end of lunch time.
There are three Key Stages within the Academy:
Foundation Stage - Reception
Key Stage 1 (KS1) - Years 1 and 2
Key Stage 2 (KS2) - Years 3 to 6
Maldon Primary School joined The Kemnal Academy Trust (TKAT) in 2016. TKAT is one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the South East of England. There are 7 other TKAT schools in Essex, our closest being Heybridge Primary School, who we work closely with.
