Description: English Regents is designed for all students who will take the English Regents examination. This course aims to improve students' knowledge in six major categories: understanding literature, reading multiple genres, writing in a variety of forms, improving vocabulary, sharpening listening skills and enhancing speaking skills. In addition, students will be introduced to the research process.
ENGLISH HONORS - 01110 -1 CREDIT
Prerequisite: Teacher Recommendation and Mastery on Placement Exam

Description: This advanced course is designed for motivated English students who have a high level of achievement. Qualified students will have demonstrated the ability to think and write critically in response to a sophisticated approach to the study of literature. A list of required summer reading is sent to qualified students. In addition, students will be expected to read substantial amounts of advanced material at home during the school year.
