This topic will be assessed through short answers and source based questions like the ones we have been practising throughout the Preliminary Course. It is not a long essay topic, your notes will be concise and to the point.
It will make up 25% of your HSC Examination.
It will be assessed in Term 4 via source questions, again in the Trial HSC, and finally in the HSC Examination
It has four sections.
1. The Survey, which is a brief look at the treaties that ended WW1.
2. The Rise of Dictatorships, which will look at how dictatorships replaced democracies after WW1, specifically in Japan under Emperor Hirohito and the military , Italy under Benito Mussolini and his Fascist government, and Russia under Stalin and his Communist Government
3. The Nazi Regime to 1939, which will cover how the Nazis got into power and what they did under Hitler when they did. It will stop before the start of the Second War
4. The search for peace and security in the world 1919–1946, which is about the attempt to make peace through the League of Nations after WW1, and the United Nations after WW2.
