J.F. Drake State Technical College

It was started as the Huntsville State Vocational Technical College. It was renamed in 1966 after the long-serving president of Alabama A&M University. Today, it is a community college.
University of the Virgin Islands

Iin 1986, it achieved university status. It has campuses on the islands of St. Thomas and St. Croix. There are also two extension facilities. It is the only HBCU located in an American territory.
