It is the only private Catholic BHCU in the United States. It began as a high school and was expanded two years later to become a teacher's college. In 1925, it became a university.
Coahoma Community College

It was founded as an extension of the Coahoma Agricultural High School, the first agricultural high school for black students in Mississippi. The community college district covers five counties.
American Baptist College
