Our mission is to ensure each and every student learns.
Four Critical Questions to Guide PLC Meetings:
What is it we want all students to learn - by grade level, by course, and by unit of instruction?
How will we know when each student has learned - that is, has acquired the knowledge, skills, and dispositions deemed essential?
How will we respond when students experience intial difficulty in their learning?
How will we enrich and extend the learning for students who are already proficient?
Steps for Each PLC Meeting:
Review PLC norms. If your team needs to create norms, use this guide: Creating PLC Norms.
Celebrate. What positive things have happened since you last met?
Review previous PLC discussion. What did you talk about the last time you were together? Refer to your PLC document you created in step 6.
Choose a Critical Question. What does your group need/want to focus on today? You may touch on multiple Critical Questions, but find a starting point.
Dive in! Use the Critical Question menu to guide your conversations surrounding that topic. Explore the resources available.
Record. Give a quick breakdown of your PLC meeting. Create a copy of this document to be shared with your group to share your process of conversations, questions, and goals. PLC Meeting Record
