Student Engagement
When enrichment emphasizes choice, authenticity, collaboration, and meaningful challenge, students who already understand the material remain engaged and motivated while continuing to grow academically and creatively.
Some of the questions we can ask ourselves while creating these activities are:
Will this enrichment keep students engaged and motivated?
Does the learning feel meaningful and relevant to students?
Are students able to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts?
How can I encourage curiosity and a love of learning?
Some characteristics of high-quality enrichment are that the activities should:
Build on students' interests and strengths
Promote critical thinking and problem-solving
Encourage creativity and innovation
Connect learning to real-world situations
Allow for student choice and independence
Require anlysis, evaluation, or creation rather than repetition
Foster collaboration and communication
When we have discussed the aspect of student engagement with enrichment activities, we can put our plan for upcoming enrichment in this document: Enrichment Plan.
