LBS 150 Challenge
With the start of another year we have a new cohort of students who are beginning their journey at Lordswood Boys' School and in the
LBS 150 Challenge.
We have included some information for parents and pupils new to the school so they can find out more about the LBS 150 Challenge!
The LBS 150 Challenge is an exciting reading competition, created just for Lordswood Boys’ School students. We have selected 150 books across a wide range of genres, works that stretch, engage and fascinate the reader. The ultimate challenge is for students to read all 150 titles during their time with us at Lordswood... quite the challenge and certainly ambitious.
Students have five years to read as many as they can – and remember, the more books you read the higher you'll climb on the school leaderboard. The higher you climb, the more badges and prizes you will win.
For every five books you read in the LBS 150 you can earn one pin badge. For 30 books, that's a total of five badges to collect!
There are also class charts points and other prizes to be won for the students who have demonstrated the greatest effort with their reading, the best progress over the year or have simply been outstanding readers. Remember, the more badges you win, the higher you will climb on the school leaderboard.
LBS top students
We are delighted with the progress made over the last year, with many of our students excelling in their reading and getting ahead in the LBS 150 Challenge.
We've already had lots of students make great progress reading and completing book reviews in their library lessons.
Leaderboard Highlights
As the current Leaderboard stands at the start of the academic year, more than 281 students in the school have earned at least one badge!
The current Year 10s are charging ahead with 3 students having earned their Topaz badge, and 10 students on Diamond.
Who will be on our leader board this year? We can't wait to see which students will impress us with their reading!
