year 8- OTHELLO
Year 8 are reading Othello during their English lessons this term. Students have welcomed the complex and challenging themes in the play including race, jealousy and truth.
Pupils have had the opportunity to read the play as a class and act out scenes in small groups including monologues. During their lessons, students have also watched clips from live performances of the play.
This has helped them to understand the purpose of a play script and how the stage is used to help tell a story.
This term students are developing their critical writing skills and exploring how Shakespeare uses symbolism in the play. Students have also had the opportunity to share their opinions on both the play’s plot and characters.
