Comic relief
Comic Relief, or Red Nose Day, took place on Friday 17th March, and the students worked together to make it a brilliant success! Here's what they got up to during their fundraising...
non uniform
On Friday we had a non uniform day, where staff came wearing an item of red clothing in support of the cause.
Each students generously donated 50p to wear their own clothes.
A special shout out to Mr Thorpe and the Eagles, who helped Y10 reach their total of £51! The final total of each year group can be found below:
Y7: £45.80 Y8: £34.90 Y9: £30.50 Y10: £51.83 Y11: £19.69
The final total for these donations was £182.72! Amazing work!
samosa sale
On Thursday, we had our samosa sale, which was a huge success. We sold out of the first 200 samosas by 11:30am.
Thankfully, Bobby was able to save the day and dash out to buy another 100. The total from our samosa sale was an amazing £122.
class charts points
During Period 1, Class Chart points were issued for above and beyond contributions, which were plentiful as everyone took part in their different Enrichment activities.
sponge a teacher
During lunchtime students were given the opportunity to throw wet sponges at willing teachers. A special shout out to Mr Tattam, who created the best stocks since the medieval ages, Mr Jenkins and Mrs Choudhury for assisting with the payments and queues, and Ms Williams, Mr Mitchell and Bobby for being great sports as they were definitely the students' number one choices.
This event alone raised £115.
penalty shootout
To wind up an amazing day, Mr Mitchell and Mr Preece assisted with a Staff Vs Student Penalty Shootout event after school. This sporting event raised £15.
coombs donation
Finally, our catering providers, Coombs, very generously donated all of the takings from their sales of food and drinks on Friday. This was a huge £865! Thank you for their incredible generosity.
The food itself was also themed for Red Nose Day, and there were lots of special treats available.
The final total raised was an amazing £1300. A huge thank you to Ms Sandhu for all her hard work organising the day and making it such a success!
