Careers day

This month we had our Careers Day. Despite the snow and unexpected weather conditions, lots of generous volunteers gave their time to speak to our students, both online and in person. Our students were able to hear invaluable advice from a range of professionals, from accountants and engineers to a fashion designer.

Year 8 listened to different Apprenticeship opportunities, while Year 9 heard from Access Sports.

Both Years got to learn about what it is like to be part of the Navy.

Year 7 had a virtual talk with a contact in the Civil Service in the Department for International Trade.

They were also lucky enough to hear from a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Year 10 had the opportunity of hearing from a contact in the army in person, as well as a virtual talk from a representative from Halesowen College, enabling them to start thinking about next steps in their educational journey.

Students also started each lesson with watching a short video on different careers. They were able to learn about a variety of careers and get a taste of what these would involve on a daily basis, including a day in the life of a pilot and a surgeon.

A big thank you to all those who gave their time to talk to our students.
