College events
During this half term we had one final college event before our Sports Day, which was the last official college event. Our first college event of this final half term was a Penalty Shootout, which took place on Friday 9th June on the 4G Pitch.
Students from each Literacy Group had 10 minutes to score as many penalties as they could against a goalkeeper from the opposing college.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in representing their Literacy Group. Every student will receive 1 point towards their College’s Overall Tally participating in the event.
Each Literacy Group will be given 10 minutes to score as many penalties as they can. Any student that has scored a penalty will receive 1 Point for their College’s overall tally.

The tally will be broken down into Year Group Winners and then Overall Event Winners Based On Points.

While Central College had a strong team in Year 8, ultimately Midlands College were the overall winners in the remaining three year groups. A breakdown of the scores can be seen below:

Sports day
Sports Day was our last official College Event, taking place on Tuesday 25th July. It was packed full of fun and competitive spirit from all the students. Events ranged from the triple jump and the shot putt to track events and relay races.
Champions
The winning literacy groups for each year group were as follows:
Year 7: Cowboys (Central)
Year 8: Rams (Midlands)
Year 9: Cardinals (Midlands)
Year 10: Chargers (Midlands)
Thank you to all the staff involved, especially the PE department, in preparing sports day and ensuring the day ran smoothly.
While it was close on points, ultimately Midlands College maintained their winning streak, taking the trophy for the College Decathlon across the academic year.
