Revision Tips

With our Year 11s having their Mock Exams the first week back after the half term break, this is the perfect time to consider revision tips and tricks to make sure you reach your full potential. Whether you're in Year 10, 11 or even Year 7 it's never to early to start working on study skills!

TECHNIQUES

2. Use visuals: Learning large pieces of text can be quite challenging. Using visuals and pictures can help prompt you to remember key dates, themes and information that you need to know. Visuals also help strengthen associations between pieces of information, and quicker and easier for the brain to recall, which will help in exams!

3. Make revision cards: Summarising all the most important parts of a topic onto a revision card is a great way to identify the key pieces of information you need to know before a test or exam. You can also use these as flashcards to test yourself in a quick and efficient way.

4. Create a revision timetable: Once you know when all your exams are, creating your own unique revision timetable is a great way to ensure you are focusing on all your subjects, and balancing studying with your day to day activities, as well as working in breaks so you don't get burnt out. A revision timetable allows you to track how much work you have been doing and prioritise any areas that need the most focus! It is better to do a little an often rather than cram in revision, as it takes time for the brain to learn information.

Good luck with all your studying over the half term break!
