Outstanding Student work

In English, our students have been looking at a wide range of topics this half term. We've selected some work to highlight the achievements of the students, and the progress they've been making this year.

year 9

In Year 9 students have been exploring and learning about different celebrations and cultures.

Sulayman S. (Ravens) in 9.1 created a wonderful and informative poster linking to Native American poetry.

Year 10

Year 10 have been working on poetry analysis, getting them ready for their GCSE exams next year.

Year 10 English work providing context on WWI from Finnley G. (Giants)

Fantastic work on poetry from Sehaj S. (Seahawks)

year 8

Rehan M. (Bears)

Farhan K. (Falcons)

Students in Year 8 have been looking at the Sherlock Holmes story The Speckled Band by Arthur Conan Doyle.

We have some excellent work featured, from book cover designs and blurbs, to an essay on how the character of Dr. Grimesby Roylott is presented in the story.

David E. (Titans)

year 11

From Richard B. (Jaguars) we have excellent work on Macbeth

He has written about the role of Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare's play, and how her character changes throughout the play.

Siaka T. (Lions)

Year 11 have also been continuing their work on Robert Louis Stevenson's Jekyll and Hyde.

We have featured a well structured essay plan from Siaka, focusing on the role of violence in the novella in chapter four specifically.

This work will help students in preparation for their exams at the end of this year, with their mocks taking place in the week returning from half term.
