LEXIA highlight
This half term at Lordswood we celebrated the improvement of our literacy skills through the use of the Lexia intervention programme.
Since September 2022, 100 students have started using Lexia to support their progression in their Reading Ages. The programme breaks down the work into three essential strands: Comprehension, Grammar and Word Study.
RESULTS
In a matter of a few months we have had an astonishing 38 students make progression in their Reaidng Ages, thanks to the hard work that has been completed by these students using Lexia.
Special Shout outs
Each Lexia Literacy Tutor had the opportunity to nominate a student for their excellent efforts, dedication, consistency and enthusiasm while using the Lexia programme this half term.
VIKINGS (Y8)
Birson B. has worked consistently since the beginning of the year, earning many minutes and making great progress in his reading age!
BENGALS (Y9)
Junaid M. consistently works hard both during Literacy Time and at home - he is always top of the leaderboard! He also offers others his laptop if they need it because he knows how hard he is working at home.
CHARGERS (Y10)
Brilliant attitude to learning, always working hard and being positive in the classroom. Thank you Ibrahim A. for your dedication to improving your reading age!
JETS (Y8-10)
Omar K. has shown a great increase in his units on Lexia, and been doing lots of work at home as well to get ahead!
He has earned an impressive 737 units this year!
