reading mentors

This term we launched our Reading Mentor scheme, where high ability students support students who are seeking to improve their English. It was wonderful to see so many students across Year 7-10 volunteer their time to help their peers.

This programme has really improved students' reading skills as the mentors help out with their pronunciation, spellings, new vocabulary and comprehension skills.

Furthermore, the programme has created friendships between students across year groups and from a variety of backgrounds. This has been especially useful for students who have English as an Additional Language (EAL).
