literacy highlights
29th November 2021
It is great to have a full week of reading, oracy and fun.
It was superb to hear the powerful messages that Year 10 students shared with their peers during their assembly around discrimination, racism, bullying and the society we live in. Year 10 Literacy Tutors continue to educate our young men with debate and discussion to broaden their understanding of wider issues in society and how they have evolved over the years. Thank you Ms Baker, Ms Smith and Mr MclIveen for your hard work.
It is wonderful to hear that our EAL students, despite their language barriers, were given the opportunity to communicate and share during briefing and back in their literacy groups. Altay, in Year 7, presented to the class and did really well despite his nerves. The boys were really proud of him as was Ms Bedesha. Thank you Ms for your continued support and encouragement.
Just fantastic to see the students engaged in their maths challenges throughout the week. Students completed their murder mystery challenges and escape room challenges in Year 7 and created some excellent cube towers in Year 9. Thank you Ms Savani, Mrs O'Shaughnessy and Mr Nyarko for inspiring our students and facilitating fun and challenge in maths.
Thank you for your support, Mrs Kang.
