Proactive Y10s book an appointment BEFORE year 11 starts
Although LG doesn't run the week of work experience for all year 10 yet, that doesn't mean you can't get any.
Once you are 16, you will be able to get a part time job, and as long as you make your studies the priority, part time work is an excellent way to learn transferable/employablity skills as well as earning money.
Before you are 16, there is work such as paper-rounds, baby-sitting, and some small, local businesses may also employ you. Once you have your National Insurance number at age 16, your options widen.
Part time jobs and school-run work experience are not the only ways to gain skills. Any hobbies you do, or sports that you play, are also excellent ways to learn. Baby sitting? You need to be responsible, trustworthy, sensible, reliable, able to keep calm. Football player? You need to be good at team working, following instructions, thinking quickly, being strategic, being resilient, and so on.
Voluntary work is another way for you get skills for your future employment. Think of it as some free training!
