Independent & Impartial Careers Advice
Lord Grey Academy has an independent careers adviser, Renuka Patel.
Ms Patel's role is to help all students find out what careers they might enjoy and flourish in - from accountants to zoologists!
The Careers department arrange for speakers, visits, and careers days, as well as one-to-one career appointments to talk to students about their plans, and help you to find out what qualifications and skills are needed, so that Lord Grey Students can plan their next steps.
The Careers department is independent and impartial, and not paid to promote any one establishment (including Lord Grey) above any other. The advice is solely based upon what students tell them what they want to do and what they enjoy, the students academic record, their Unifrog profile, and their own knowledge of education and the labour market.
You can book an appointment with the department by clicking on the button at the top of the page, or by asking your tutor or head of year to arrange one for you.
The Careers Centre is located on the ground floor of the Sixth Form block, and you are welcome to pop in any day at break, lunch, or after school on Tuesday and Thursday to ask questions or look at the books and materials available.

This site contains information about the different paths you can choose at the end of Year 11 and after Sixth Form, as well as information about different careers, apprenticeships, the local labour market, and higher education.
Information about careers days, and other career-relevant opportunities and activities are shared under the relevant year group's page.
Finally, keep an eye on the events page to see what is coming up within Lord Grey as well as online or at one of our local colleges, universities, and employers.
