What is an apprenticeship?

How do I find an apprenticeship?

They can be slightly tricky to find because although most of them are listed on the government's website, some large organisations run their own schemes, and you have to search and apply directly through them. Degree apprenticeships may also be advertised through the company, the university, or UCAS.

You also need to search company sites yourself, there are a few links at the bottom of this page to get you started.

When companies send me information about vacancies, I email them on to the relevant year group, so keep an eye on your LG email as well.

The main government website has thousands of apprenticeship vacancies.

Amazing Apprenticeships has everything you need to know, including a link to the government site.

Not Going to Uni shows the alternatives to the standard university route to school and college leavers. It is probably one of the best known sites for alternatives to higher education.

Rate My Apprenticeship have a free guide to download - it includes the top employers this year and interviews with current apprentices.

Amazon have a wide range of apprenticeship vacancies from IT to operations or fashion.

Network Rail usually has one big apprenticeship recruitment a year. Look out for details and for their evening presentation at their Head Office in the centre of MK.

Santander have large offices in Milton Keynes, and offer an apprenticeship scheme.
