Indicate whether a zero must be dialled before the area code for domestic or international calls. For telephone numbers outside the country, give the area code as it would be dialled within that country and do not include the country code.
In some countries, an extra digit applies if the number is called from within the country; eg the area code for Melbourne is 03 if called from within Australia, 3 if called from overseas. Assume the traveller is calling from within that country.
Collect the area codes for all telephone numbers. When giving a telephone number, group the digits in the same manner as is done within that particular country; this will be shown on the style sheet.
Phone numbers are formatted (eg spaces, hyphens or a combination) as per local style for the region, or per the relevant style sheet.
