Use an ampersand (&) in place of ‘and’ in headings and tables (except in headings in articles on lp.com, where ‘and’ is spelt out). Retain ‘and’ in headings where appropriate for clarity.
Burke & Wills and Other Expeditions
NOTE: Straplines and Beyond subheadings in guidebooks do not use an ampersand. They should be in sentence case with an 'and'.
In text, retain ampersands in proper nouns when used by the business, organisation or institution named.
Do not use an ampersand for joint authorship of books or in general text.
