The omission of a word (or more) from a quoted passage is indicated by an ellipsis.
Guinness World Records says: ‘The airport in Quito is the highest…international airport in the world’.
An ellipsis can also indicate a pause or a thought trailing off.

A space goes after the ellipsis points only if a new sentence follows. A full point is not necessary after an ellipsis that ends a sentence.
Ellipses can be inserted by using the ellipsis character code (ALT+0133).
