Our number one goal at Los Nietos School District is to provide high-quality social-emotional and educational opportunities for students. In keeping with this goal, we have designed a Summer Program that will support the whole-child by focusing on helping students transition back to in-person schooling. COVID-19 protocols will be in place throughout the program to provide a safe learning environment.

This year the Summer Learning Program will be offered to all of our TK-7th grade students, and will be focused on the following:

– Provide Students and staff an opportunity to adjust to in-person learning

Students and staff have been participating in distance learning for over a year. We understand that it will take time for everyone to adjust to the classroom setting. Summer is a perfect time to help ensure the transition is smooth.

– Have students become excited and engaged about the learning process

Behavioral: Is the student present in class, whether it's in person or online?

Emotional: How does a student feel about the learning process? For example, does the student find the material interesting or exciting?

Cognitive: Is a student focused and involved in the teaching?

Social: Is a student lonely or connected?

– Provide students the opportunity to socially interact with their peers and site staff

Social Emotional support is a main focus of this program. Providing a safe space for our students is of the utmost importance.
