Grading

GRADING GUIDELINES

  • The inputting of grades must be completed by the deadlines. Please plan on having any final test results, general class assignments, and/or make up work inputted by that time. Please avoid guaranteeing the acceptance of work to students after the end of the reporting period.

  • Teachers are to let the school secretary know when they have completed grades for their classes.

  • All fields for letter grades and citizenship marks must be completed. Students earning a “D,” “F,” “N,” or “U” must have a comment entered. Comments should be framed in a supportive, constructive manner.

  • Students earning letter grades of “D” and/or “F” should have the comment listed for “In danger of not participating in the ceremony.”

  • Principal reviews grades and comments on verification sheets.

  • Grade verification sheets will be returned to the teachers so they can make any revisions requested by their Principal. Teachers must make corrections in PowerTeacher Gradebook and on the grade verification sheet as well.

  • The grade verification sheets must be signed/dated and returned to the office by the end of the workday on the specified date.

  • Grades will be stored permanently on the server and no changes or revisions can be made thereafter.

  • Secretaries will print the final version of the report card and distribute to teachers.

  • Middle School report cards are sent via US Mail.

  • English Language Development Progress Monitoring Forms must be updated each quarter and are to be collected and filed in the cumulative folders for each English Learner at the end of the school year.

Students Reclassified as Fluent English Proficient must be monitored for a 4-year period after being reclassified. If progress begins to fall, appropriate support is to be assigned to the student to ensure mastery learning.
