Reclassification
There are 4 criteria points for reclassification are: ELPAC Summative, District Benchmark Assessments (STAR Reading), ELA Grades, teacher recommendation and parent consent.
- ELPACE Summative
- Current Overall CELDT score is Early Advanced (4) or Advanced (5) with no subtest score below Intermediate
- District Benchmark Assessments
- For Grades 2 – 8: Student demonstrates grade level equivalence proficiency in the grade level on the Accelerated Reader STAR Test (For example, grade 4 would need a 4.0 or higher; grade 6 would need a 6.0 or higher
- GRADE
- Elementary: Trimester grade in core English class equals a “3” or higher
- Grades 7-8: Trimester grade of a “C” or above in English
- TEACHER RECOMMENDATION
- Elementary: Current teacher supports reclassification recommendation
- Gr. 7-8: Current core teacher (English Language Arts) supports reclassification recommendation
