Insurance Requirements
Medical Insurance
Physician assistant students are required to carry medical insurance, which includes hospitalization, throughout the duration of the program. Cost-sharing plans will not be accepted in lieu of medical insurance coverage. Students will submit evidence of credible coverage, listing them as a covered entity, through the third-party compliance vendor. Documentation must be updated annually through MyRecordTracker.
Student Accident Isurance
Lipscomb University will additionally provide PA students with a student accident insurance plan, which is classified as secondary [excess] coverage. A schedule of benefits can be obtained through the university's risk management department.
To file a claim, please complete the Student Accident Insurance Claim Form and follow the directions included therein. For questions or help filing a claim with the student accident insurance plan, please contact the university's Office of Risk Management at 615-966-5661.
Professional Liability Insurance
Prior to matriculation, each physician assistant student will register for and receive a student professional liability insurance policy that contains minimum limits of $1 million per claim and $3 million aggregate. This policy will be maintained during the entire length of the program.
